Details from the 2022 Pitch Battle at Leadership Summit

The purpose of the Leadership Summit Pitch Battle is to offer a platform for Leadership Summit attendees to share the value that the REALTOR® brand has brought to their customers, communities, and/or their associations. By sharing these testimonials, the Pitch Battle hopes to inspire other Leadership Summit attendees to feel empowered by the REALTOR® difference, position themselves as experts in their local communities, and achieve their real estate ambitions.

Important Dates from the 2022 Event

Applications Open: June 13, 2022
Applications Due: July 1, 2022
Final 5 applications will be notified that they will “pitch” by July 18, 2022
Live, in-person Leadership Summit Pitch Battle: August 8, 2022.Pitchers must be available for an in-person rehearsal on Sunday, August 7 in Chicago.

The winner will be determined by audience vote to be awarded the following grants:*

1^st place: $5,000
2^nd & 3^rd place: $1,500 each
4^th & 5^th place: $1,000 each

How It Works

Attendees that wish to participate must complete a brief application and submit their 1 min video on the Leadership Week home page. Submissions are due July 1, 2022 and will be evaluated according to the submission criteria.

Prizes

The winner will be determined by audience vote and will receive the following grants:

1st place: $5,000
2nd & 3rd place: $1,500 each
4th & 5th place: $1,000 each

Judges & Finalists

A panel of judges will choose five finalists to present their testimonials live to their peers at the Pitch Battle, scheduled for August 8, 2022 during the 2022 Leadership Summit.

Submission Criteria

In order to be eligible to compete for the Leadership Summit Pitch Battle prizes, you must submit the following:

a video submission, as described below,
be a selected contestant,
participate in and attend all 2022 Leadership Summit Pitch Battle related events and,
be registered for the 2022 Leadership Summit as a Pitch-Battle attendee in-person.

As described in the Terms and Conditions, the Leadership Summit winner will be required to provide any requested proof of eligibility and to sign additional paperwork in order to be formally declared winners and to claim prizes.

Video Submissions

Video submissions must be recorded and delivered by the association’s President-elect.
Video submissions may not be longer than 1 minute in length.
The “pitcher” must clearly demonstrate the REALTOR® difference and how it benefits REALTOR® members, consumers, and communities. Submitters may consider focusing on one (or more) of the following objectives while delivering their pitch:
- Demonstrate how REALTORS® work at a higher ethical standard than non-member agents.
- Articulate the expertise that REALTORS® offer their customers, such as exceptional knowledge of neighborhoods, market data and negotiation skills.
- Describe the unique value and perspective that REALTORS® can offer to better serve their communities.

Details for Applicants

Applicant must be willing to publicly share their pitch with other REALTOR® associations and in REALTOR® marketing efforts.
Submissions may be made available to the respective state association and/or NAR for vetting and legal purposes.
The five finalists will be expected to present their “pitch”, live and in-person, at the 2022 Leadership Summit in front of their peers.
Willingness to be live streamed via Facebook Live at the 2022 Leadership Summit Pitch Battle final.
Agree to be available for a planning call, one week prior to the Leadership Summit, plus one rehearsal, onsite at the Sheraton Grand Chicago.
