Most people would agree that there are more options and ways to connect with others today than ever before. Cell phones, email, social media, and video chatting have opened up a whole new world of possibilities. For REALTORS®, this means two things—there are more ways to connect with clients and prospective buyers, and REALTORS® must be open to all forms of communication and technology to suit those clients’ needs and preferences. And according to the National Association of REALTORS® 2015 Member Profile, REALTORS® are adapting to this technology shift. In fact, 85 percent of REALTORS® today prefer to speak to clients via text messages. While that number is still smaller than emailing and chatting over the phone (which 93 percent and 91 percent of REALTORS® prefer to use, respectively), only 40 percent of REALTORS® preferred to text clients just five years ago, signaling a shift to better assist clients and meet their needs.
