Before finding their dream house, selling that picturesque condo or investing in a fantastic commercial space, consumers need to make an important decision: Whom do I hire to guide me through this sale?
That’s where a robust, search engine optimized website can help real estate pros gain an edge.
.RealEstate, the professional website builder and domain registrar formerly known as .Realtor, is designed to help real estate professionals break through the internet noise and reach consumers overwhelmed by options.
New Name, New Approach
On Monday, NAR partner .Realtor rebranded as .RealEstate.
Accessed through www.get.realestate, .RealEstate consolidates NAR’s get.realtor, .realtor, .realestate and top-level domain brands—first launched in 2014—under a single name. The company says it’s aiming to expand its identity as a business development and marketing tool, rather than one focused solely on domain names.
“When we originally began our business, we were known primarily for domains,” says Colleen Doyle, vice president, RIN and strategic initiatives at the National Association of REALTORS®. “We’ve grown our business to be more of a digital branding solution over the last five years.”
That shift in identity is reflected in the revamped website building experience. Users no longer start the process by choosing a domain name. Instead, they are prompted to make design and functionality decisions and choose a domain name later. Not only do they get an exclusive .realtor or .realestate domain name, but they also receive an SEO-optimized website, email platform and more.
“We’ve taken the work out of websites so real estate professionals can focus on what matters most—growing their business,” Doyle says.
Since inception, more than 50,000 customers have used .RealEstate to publish 250,000 websites.
Intuitive Templates at Affordable Prices
As part of the rebrand, .RealEstate launched more than 45 new online and mobile website templates for agents, brokers, appraisers and industry specialists, giving professionals access to about 75 total customizable templates.
The templates offer fresh designs and user-friendly interfaces, while requiring minimal effort to get the website up and running in as little as five minutes, an estimate shared by the company.
They offer four website packages—Basic, Edge, Premium and Elite—starting from $9.95 per month and maxing at $109.95 per month for NAR and Canadian Real Estate Association members. NAR and CREA members save anywhere from 15%-45% compared to non-members.
Packages above Basic may include templates with multiple pages, blogs and videos, advanced AI tools, accessibility tools, email platforms, the ability to showcase listings and a CRM platform.
The AI tools allow users to add photos, craft copy and edit text. They also serve as a personal SEO assistant, adding alternative image texts and meta tags throughout the website pages to save time and effort and to gain higher visibility.
The price points are competitive with other website builders on the market and are often cheaper as a benefit to members.
The company is offering a no-cost trial on all of its website packages for one month, so customers can test drive any package to find out which one makes the most sense for their business needs.
The Appeal of Top-Level Domains
Every website package includes a personalized “.realtor” or “.realestate” domain.
Top-level domains are an easy marketing tool to help stand out from those with similar names, or in a geographic area or professional niche.
“JaneDoe.Realtor” or “IndianapolisLuxury.RealEstate” conveys your brand succinctly and memorably. At the same time, these personalized naming formats have SEO benefits and have been credited with helping agents boost their rankings on Google.
Having a high-ranked website not only increases that business’s visibility, but it can also increase the number of eyeballs on a client’s listing, further amplifying the value one professional offers over another.
