Is there a registration fee?
No, there is no registration fee for the 2017 Communication Directors Institute.
Who can attend?
This event will be open only to state and local communications directors or a state and local association employee whose responsibilities include communications.
Only one staff member per local or state association may attend. Space permitting, registration will open on April 15 to additional association attendees on a first come, first served basis.
Why is attendance limited to only one staff member per association?
Hotel conference space is limited to 180 attendees, and we aim to allow for the widest access to programming and information. Therefore, attendance for 2017 will be limited to only one staff member per local or state association; additional association attendees cannot be accommodated.
Space permitting, registration will be open on April 15 to additional association attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close once maximum capacity of 180 attendees has been reached.
When should I plan to arrive and depart?
Plan to arrive in Chicago on Wednesday, June 28. The Institute will begin with a Welcome Reception that evening. The Institute will end on Friday, June 30 after lunch. Plan your departure for the afternoon of Friday, June 30.
What if I would like to extend my stay outside of the allotted conference dates at my own expense?
If you would like to extend your stay outside of the allotted conference dates at your own expense, please make a reservation for the conference dates and then contact Amy Swida at firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about an extended stay. She will let you know if the hotel is able to accommodate additional nights. Hotel reservations must be made through the Communication Directors Institute registration site. Please do not book your hotel room directly with the hotel as you will not receive the special NAR rate.
