Want to retire from real estate? Want to maintain an income stream and ensure your clients are well cared for? You might refer a client or two to a peer but the problem is there is no continued pro-active marketing.

The Golden Handoff is the process of valuing and preparing your business for sale to an Adopting Agent, then finding a great Adopting Agent who will take over the task of taking care of your clients and make sure you get the most benefit from all the work you’ve put into your business.

  • It was very good for brokers. I'm an AE and so it didn't pertain to me. But, I now know what I should be recommending to others and will consider hosting something like this for our membership.
  • I've been in real estate 15 years and found many presenters bore attendees with fluff and their accomplishments. Today's presenter was clear and to the point without fluff. I appreciate him keeping the information to the point as it was exactly what we were seeking. Thank you!

  • The attorney did an excellent job speaking. I can tell that she knows her subject well. It is a good topic for REALTORS®, but more information regarding this topic with and without being a Broker would also help. Thank you.
  • In general, the presentation did a great job of discussing the different legal options, but I do think, though challenging given the various laws in different states, etc., I think what I was looking for, and what I think most people wanted, would be very general recommendations.

The Psychology of Money: Managing Debt and Taking Control of Your Financial Life
Presenter: Derek Hagan
Target Audience: Mid-career Agents

Pay to view

Money is stressful. Money is the leading cause of stress for Americans - all of us. But it doesn’t feel that way. It feels like we are alone on an island and everyone else has it together. So we end up doing what it looks like everyone else does...and we go into debt doing so. In addition, we are all a product of our upbringing. What we saw and experienced as children shaped how we make financial decisions today. Many of us end up in debt because of the stories we tell ourselves about money’s role in our happiness. These stories that we tell ourselves are called Money Scripts, and if left unexamined, they can keep us stuck.

Understanding the psychology of debt and money is powerful. It helps us understand the role we want money to play in our lives. It helps us ask the question, “What happens when we pay off all our debt? What’s the money for?”

Learn why we end up in debt, and how we can ground ourselves to a financial purpose in order to keep ourselves out of debt. Understand your Money Scripts to improve your financial health.

Topic Rating:

  • 4.5/5

Member Reviews:

  • This information provided by Derek is essential for all of us. Derek's stressing of being intentional about our spending and about analyzing our internal Money Scripts struck a chord with me. This information should be taught in schools, too! Thank you again for providing this webinar.
  • The visuals were helpful. I know some would say they were so simple that they weren't needed. I would disagree. An impression has to be made on the subconscious mind to change the money script. Changing the behavior without changing the mind is only effective in the short term in most cases.
  • I really like how today's speaker (Derek Hagen) stripped the matter of personal finances down to the basics. I half expected to hear about investment and other creative strategies to manage personal debt problems, but that is not what he did and for that I am grateful!
