Association Executives Committee
Commercial Member Relationships Work Group
Sunday, March 24, 2014
Baltimore, MD

Meeting Summary

Work Group Purpose

To identify best practices that associations are using to successfully serve and provide value to commercial practitioners; and to help associations promote their value to recruit and retain commercial members.

Meeting Activity

Chair Downs opened the meeting and told the work group that she believed they could best achieve their purpose if they focus on education, advocacy, and programs/products/services.

With that in mind, she asked everyone to introduce themselves and share with the group the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (the SWOTs) that their associations perceive with regard to serving commercial members. An overview of these SWOTs is attached.

The work group members will review the SWOT document between now and the REALTOR® Party Conference in May, and determine in which breakout group they’d like to serve. Each breakout group will develop a resource to assist associations with commercial members, with the end goal being an online resource to help associations better recruit, retain, and serve commercial members.
