2019 Profile of International Transactions in U.S. Residential Real Estate (National Association of REALTORS®, Jul. 2019)

  • 47% of foreign buyers purchased the property as a primary residence and paid a median price of $280,600.
  • Foreign buyers from five countries continued to account for most of the reported purchases: China (11 percent), Canada (11 percent), Mexico (9 percent), India (5 percent), and the United Kingdom (3 percent).
  • The major destinations for foreign buyers are Florida (20 percent), California (12 percent), Texas (10 percent), Arizona (5 percent) and New Jersey (4 percent).
