On Wednesday, February 24, the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship held a meeting to vote on the nomination of Isabel Guzman to be Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA). The Committee advanced her nomination by a bipartisan vote of 15-5, clearing the path for a confirmation vote on the Senate Floor.

NAR sent a letter of supportpdf for Ms. Guzman, who previously served as the director of California’s Office of the Small Business Advocate and was deputy chief of staff at the SBA during the Obama Administration. The SBA has taken a heightened role during the COVID-19 pandemic, administering crucial relief programs like the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs), which many REALTORS® have their clients have utilized to help them weather the crisis. NAR will continue to support Ms. Guzman’s nomination as it advances to the Senate floor.
