Coming Soon: All New Expertise Profiles and Committee Applications

Check back for more information on the new Expertise Profiles, launching March 9, 2026.

Committee Applications will open on April 1, 2026.

Please see the Committee Appointment Process FAQs for more information.

We are refreshing the committee application process! Expect an all-new Expertise Profile, in addition to all-new Committee Applications.

What’s New:

Expertise Profiles:

All members must fill out a new Expertise Profile before applying for a committee position. Previous years’ Expertise Profiles have been archived, and data will not “carry over” to the new profiles as the content is substantially changed.

What’s new in the Expertise Profiles?

  • Requirement to view and edit the profile each year
  • Streamlined categories and drop-down menus
  • More space to describe areas of expertise and include designations

Applications:

Applications are more robust and targeted to the specialty for which you are applying.

What’s new in the applications?

  • Members interested in vice chair positions will submit a separate, role-specific application focused on both specialty expertise and leadership experience.
  • 15 unique applications, specialized to each Oversight Group*, will be aimed at identifying the most qualified candidates for each committee based on relevant qualifications.
  • Applicants will answer questions related to the business specialty for which they are applying, demonstrating their depth of knowledge and interest in the subject matter.
  • Endorsements will still be important, however the new process guides endorsers to the qualifications and purpose of the committees, so they may provide endorsements based on the applicant’s relevant professional experience.

*Oversight Groups include: Association Leadership, Commercial & Industry Relations, Global Real Estate, Law & Policy, MLS & Data Management, Member Services, Member Engagement, Broker Relations, Public & Federal Issues, Housing Issues, REALTOR® Party, REALTOR® Party Community Engagement, REALTOR® Party Disbursement, REALTOR® Party Fundraising, and REALTOR® Party Member Involvement.

How the Enhancements Benefit Members

The updated committee application experience is designed to help you better understand the expectations and criteria of the committee roles for which you are applying. This will help you align your expertise with the opportunities where you can have the greatest impact.

Preparing an Application

You are encouraged to submit multiple applications (up to five) in order to be considered for all committees you have an interest in serving on; however, members will only receive one appointment, per current policy. Applications are compiled for review by NAR Officers during the NAR committee selection process.
