Do street names make a difference in a real estate sale? A 2012 study suggests they can. For example, street addresses with words like “Boulevard,” “Place,” and “Road” were found to have higher average asking prices than homes with addresses ending in “Avenue,” “Drive,” or “Street,” according to the study conducted a decade ago by Trulia. At the time, homes that were located on streets with the word “Boulevard” in the address sold on average about $117 per square foot compared to properties located on addresses with “Lane,” which sold on average for $101 per square foot, or “Street,” which sold for about $86 per square foot.

A separate study conducted in 2015 by realtor.com® suggested that street names with more feminine names—like Pearl, Elizabeth, and Rose—tended to be more expensive than those with male street names, such as Jackson, Grant, and Cooper. Read more: Male vs. Female: Which Street Name Is Worth More?
