NAR: Going Above and Beyond for You

Find out what the association is doing to help your business and your community.

REALTORS® Out in Force for Kids

When NAR President Tom Salomone invited REALTORS® and REALTOR® associations last year to join him in making a difference in the lives of children and teens by supporting their local Boys & Girls Clubs of America, he was confident REALTORS® would respond. Since then REALTORS® have gone above and beyond to support the organization, which offers programs and services at more than 4,200 club facilities nationwide. “I am extremely proud of my fellow REALTORS® for opening their hearts

and wallets and rolling up their sleeves to help enrich and improve the lives of young people,” says Salomone. “Their efforts reaffirm the REALTOR® organization’s commitment to make a positive impact in communities across the country.”

In all, REALTORS® have contributed their time or funds to support 205 clubs that serve nearly 20,000 kids. REALTOR® associations, individual members, and brokerage firms have donated more than $100,000 to local clubs.

In August, National Association of REALTORS® staff, left, donated 485 back-to-school backpacks stuffed with school supplies for club members in Chicago and Washington, D.C. NAR’s partnership with BGCA is ongoing. To learn how to get involved with your local Boys & Girls Clubs of America, visit NAR’s resource guide at realtor.org/BGCA.

Access Property Data on the Spot

A new partnership between SentriLock, the official lockbox provider for NAR, and Realtors Property Resource® gives REALTORS® direct access to RPR real-time property data on a smartphone when accessing a SentriLock lockbox through the SentriSmart mobile app.

Once the lockbox opens, you’re directed to the property details in RPR Mobile. From there the agent can view public records and MLS data, tax and mortgage information, and even email client-friendly reports. This integration gives REALTORS® the fastest access to the valuable property information needed to conduct business, a distinct advantage for NAR members.

This integration comes on the heels of RPR’s announced partnerships with zipLogix and DocuSign, meaning that REALTORS® will also benefit from exclusive RPR data and automatic formatting features on these two additional platforms. The new integration with DocuSign Transaction Rooms for Real Estate, planned for later this year, will boost transaction accuracy, speed, and overall efficiency because agents will no longer have to retype property information manually. The integration with zipLogix’s zipForm electronic forms software enables you to seamlessly go from RPR’s property details page to zipForm and vice versa. Select public record data fields from RPR can now flow directly into the forms REALTORS® use in zipForm. For more information, visit blog.narrpr.com.

Condo Financing Relief on the Way

President Obama’s recent signing of H.R. 3700, the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act, will help significantly to remove barriers to safe, affordable mortgage lending for condominiums. The new law was the culmination of a hard-fought legislative effort by NAR. Nearly 140,000 REALTORS® reached out to members of Congress to voice their support during the NAR Call for Action. “This is a long-awaited victory for NAR and for home buyers for whom condos are an important and affordable option,” says NAR President Tom Salomone.
