If it Ain’t Broke, Break It
After graduating from Elon University in North Carolina, Warren Sacks started his real estate career at the bottom—literally—clearing out the basement at Barker Realty. But working for the late Artie Garcia, one of the top-performing agents in Santa Fe, N.M., quickly gave Sacks a taste of success. “Once you start achieving success, it becomes addictive,” he says. Complacency is the enemy, he says. Barker’s recently redesigned Web site is constantly being tweaked to improve users’ experience, he says. And agents are encouraged to improve the experience they offer, too. The company offers four training opportunities a week, including peer-to-peer training, technology training, and “language of selling” training. Sacks, who was diagnosed with dyslexia in elementary school, learned long ago the value of pushing himself to achieve goals. “I like to make myself uncomfortable,” he says, “because I believe that’s the only way to grow.”
Tip: "To inspire others you have to be inspired; never stop looking for inspiration."
