Fashionable Transition
When Rob Riddle, 29, got involved in real estate, he thought it would be on a part-time basis. “I was working in fashion at the time, but I was having great success with real estate on the side,” says Riddle, who was a store analyst doing merchandise planning for a major clothing company. Not long after, his manager pulled him into his office and asked him if he wanted to be in retail or real estate. “I gave him my two weeks on the spot,” Riddle says. “Real estate has given me true fulfillment.” His departure from retail merchandising was amicable, and he’ll soon be listing his former boss’s home. Spurred by his love of the outdoors, he’s found a niche in raw land and rural properties. Last year, he sold out a 55-acre neighborhood development project in three months.
