Westford completed an accelerated college program called Running Start, earning her associates degree at the same time she graduated from high school. As friends moved away to college, Westford went to work with her father, Mike Westford, a 35-year real estate veteran. Remaining in her hometown turned out to be a great move. When old friends came home, they were impressed by her knowledge of the market and became clients. She also taps the FSBO market: She says more than 50 percent of her sellers start out unrepresented. In 2005, Westford closed 31 transaction sides for more than $7.2 million in volume.
Her other life: Westford is vice president of a company that provides affordable housing and helps tenants move toward self-sufficiency. She also volunteers for a variety of organizations, including in the emergency room of a local hospital.
Dust in the wind: Westford's side passion is motocross. She owns a four-wheeler and spends free time jumping sand dunes and riding trails.
