What’s the key to real estate success? Find more ways to add value than your competition, says Jay O’Brien, 29. “I love to motivate others and inspire them to do things they didn’t think they could do,” says O’Brien, who currently supervises and coaches 12 agents. His mantra led him to launch two new projects: a podcast, “Prestige Living,” highlighting the struggles and successes of young entrepreneurs in Orange County, Calif., and a monthly seminar for first-time buyers called “Buy With a Buddy,” to teach people about the options for buying a home with a friend. “My goal is to be the trusted authority,” he says. In April, “Prestige Living” was No. 6 on iTunes’s New and Noteworthy business podcasts list, while his seminars have drawn about 100 people and led to eight new clients, he says.
