Easing Minds
Recently, Amanda DeLong, ABR, GRI, 27, invited a couple over for dinner, emblematic of how she interacts with many of her past clients. She had worked closely with them on multiple transactions: After helping to stage their home—getting them top dollar in their Neighborhood—she sold their elderly relative’s condo and found them a fixer-upper. “They sent me pictures weekly as they were redoing the house. I love to see the life stages my clients are going through and to be involved in those stages as they take place,” says DeLong. She learned early in her career not to get upset when an offer isn’t accepted or a deal falls through. “I’ve adjusted my attitude and I reassure my buyers that the right house is out there,” she says. “I need to be the strong one and keep their optimism up.”
