I’ve learned to acknowledge failure without getting discouraged. Failure occurs only when you don’t learn from mistakes. That’s especially important in real estate, where few opportunities turn into successful transactions. I review each transaction to understand what worked and what didn’t. In 2013, it took about eight days to process a file from an accepted offer to contract execution. Despite spending significant time creating instructions, I had to admit my process was failing and completely overhauled it. In admitting failure, I reduced that time to a four-day average, which was fundamental to being able to process 256.5 sides in 2014.
