From the Ground Up
Alex Belcher’s involvement with real estate began at a concrete level. His first job as a teen involved laying foundations and framing homes for a custom home builder. But his parents, both sales agents, laid the foundation for his career. “When I was in college, I’d hear people talk about having a ratified contract on a house, and I knew what they meant,” says Belcher, 28. He cut his teeth in a market teeming with distressed properties. It was a slow start, but he persevered. “For the first six months, I didn’t sell a single house,” he says. “Then I got the ball rolling, and it has been an exciting experience ever since.” Today, he works primarily with investors, doubling down on the due diligence service he was accustomed to providing his short-sale clients.
