The Importance Of Referrals In The Real Estate Industry

  • Buyers are most likely to find their real estate agent they used to buy a home through a referral. But, when you dive a little deeper into the numbers you can see the importance of referrals in the real estate industry.
  • When the buyer used an agent that was referred to them from a friend or neighbor, 7 in 10 only contacted one agent during their buying process.
  • When the buyer used an agent they had worked with previously to buy or sell a home, 85 percent only contacted one agent.
  • In comparison, if the buyer found the agent from the newspaper, an advertising specialty (calendar, magnet, etc), or through visiting an open house, more than half contacted more than one agent.
