Tessa Hultz, RCE, CAE, is the CEO of the Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) in New York, and the 2022 Magel Award Recipient. Before joining LIBOR, she held association management and CEO positions at REALTOR® associations in Missouri, Kansas, and North Carolina.

Through her leadership, Tessa has guided many others to realize their potential through new learning opportunities. She has served as a volunteer mentor, instructor, and speaker for new AEs. She has inspired and mentored staff and leadership to work toward earning their RCE, CIPS, and CMLX designations, as well as AHWD and e-PRO certifications, C2EX endorsement, and becoming RPAC Major Investors.
Tessa recognizes the importance of giving back to the community and has strong connections to Habitat for Humanity and You Gotta Belief (YGB), a Long Island organization that supports and helps place teen foster children into families.
Tessa’s passion lies in advocating for safe, affordable housing for all. Her personal mission for LIBOR is to continue to create a new identity as a national leader in equality and opportunity in homeownership.
Statement of Purpose
The AEC serves as a resource for REALTOR® associations by:
- Ensuring that there is knowledge and understanding of issues and concerns between the REALTOR® association community and NAR committees and leadership;
- Providing a framework that ensures staff and volunteer leaders have the professional development and management resources they need to provide optimal services to their members.
2022 AEC Goals:
The AEC's areas of focus for 2022 include:
- Identify unique and innovative opportunities for enhanced member experiences and engagement that directly impact member success and profitability. Identify how technology and new models of interaction can help associations meet members where they are and deliver services in a way that aligns with how members do business. Discover new ways to aggregate existing member data (including MLS) and utilize it to improve association programs, products, and services.
- Create models/templates that can help associations create meaningful and sustainable DEI programs, leadership opportunities, and other resources that will assist and provide support for associations as they address diversity, equity. and inclusion with their members and staff.
- Develop a proposal for a national program that would aim to recognize, reward, and incentivize local and state associations to excel, improve, and innovate so the REALTOR® organization can thrive well into the future. The program will be designed to encourage associations to strive toward a culture of continuously innovating and raising the bar to provide exceptional value to members.
- Develop a shared set of positive aspirational principles of association leadership that include key characteristics and behaviors that define exceptional association leadership. This shared set of principles can serve as a model for volunteer and staff leaders at all levels of the association to strive toward and consider adopting as a guiding philosophy.
