Online Membership Orientation Work Group

Work Group Purpose
To develop an online version of a local association membership orientation program or key components of a program that could be included in such an orientation.
Meeting Activity
Work group members received an overview on the development and availability of the NAR online orientation module from Sabine Steinbrecher, CEO, Learning Library, and NAR Marketing staff Karen Bebart and Kim DiGangi. This module, which is on target and will be available by the beginning of 2014, and will include the following:

NAR has negotiated preferred pricing so local and state association can work with Learning Library to develop their own customized orientation modules for use with the national module.
Next Steps
A session on how to “Develop an Online New Member Orientation” will be held on March 24, 2014, at the AE Institute in Baltimore, MD, giving attendees an overview of the NAR online orientation module. The first 50 associations to sign up by March 31, 2014, will be given a free orientation program.
Andrea Bushnell, RCE, Chair of the Association Executives Committee, will give an overview of the NAR online orientation module at the State Chief State meeting on March 22, 2014.
Learning Library and NAR will offer periodic webinars educating associations on how to create their own online orientation modules.
