Recommend the 2016 AEC Vice Chair at the 2015 AE Institute.
Action/Update
The advisory board recommended that Mike Theo, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, Wisconsin REALTORS® Association, be the 2016 AEC Vice Chair. This recommendation was approved by 2015 NAR First Vice President Bill Brown.
Goal #2
Recommend key AEC liaisons to 2016 NAR committees at the 2015 Midyear Meeting.
Action/Update
The advisory board recommended AEs to be considered for appointments to key committee liaison positions. With this input, 2016 NAR President Tom Salomone appointed the following 2016 AEC key liaisons:
Consumer Communications (2016) – Karen Becker, RCE, Southeast Minnesota Association (MN)
Conventional Financing and Policy (2016) – Victor Raymos, RCE, St. Augustine and St. Johns County Board (FL)

Recommend AE appointments to the 2016 NAR Board of Directors (1 State AE, 2 Local AEs, 1 Regional MLS AE) at the 2015 Midyear Meeting.

With input from the advisory board, 2016 NAR President Tom Salomone approved the following 2016 AE Board of Directors Appointments:

Select the 2015 William R. Magel Award of Excellence recipient at the 2015 Midyear Meeting.
Action/Update
The advisory board selected Diane Ruggiero, RCE, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS® (KS), as the recipient of the 2015 William R. Magel Award of Excellence.
Goal #6
Select the 2015 AE Community Leadership Award recipient at the 2015 REALTORS® Conference and Expo.
Action/Update
Due to a steady lack of nominations over the past few years, the advisory board agreed to not select a 2015 McDermott Award recipient and to reexamine the award criteria and revisit the award’s purpose. This will take place at the 2015 REALTORS® Conference and Expo.

Actions to be taken to achieve goals
Solicit nominations and applications from the AEC constituency prior to each National meeting; carefully review all nominations and applications and conduct interviews (when appropriate) to ensure that the most qualified candidates are recommended for these positions.
Expected outcome
Qualified association executives are appointed to select positions within the association and selected as recipients for awards/scholarships.
