What: CommercialForum blast – an e-newsletter published each week that highlights commercial advocacy efforts of the associations.  We use it to market a litany of our programs including but not limited to: monthly networking meetings, legislative advocacy, forms development, commercial events in the region, spotlighted development projects and news, landlord/tenant trends amongst other programs.
Is it successful: We get positive feedback on the blast, and our events features are very well regarded.
Is it affordable: Cost is staff time.
Is it sustainable: This is a part of ongoing commercial member communications.
Is it replicable in other associations: Yes

Indiana Commercial Board of REALTORS® (commercial overlay board)

What: A bi-weekly e-newsletter, Commercial Focus, contains industry, ICBR, IAR and NAR news which complements the already existing quarterly district e-newsletter and monthly full member e-newsletter.
Contains news articles from the top business and industry publications, members engage with this publication to stay informed.
Is it successful: Yes. The newsletter has an average email open rate of 65.8 percent and click through rate of 12.3 percent among ICBR members. The e-newsletter has also provided ICBR with $2377.03 in un-budgeted non-dues revenue from advertising royalties.
Is it affordable: Yes. FREE!
Is it sustainable: Yes.
Is it replicable: Yes.

New York State Commercial Association of REALTORS® (commercial overlay board)

What: Interactive website – broadcast email service; increases member visibility.
Is it successful: Membership directory allows drill down by area or chapter to seek out practitioners in a specific area. Website will be redeveloped to tie all seven chapters together under one umbrella website. Email system enables members to login to a password protected website to send mass emails to other practitioners stating their wants and needs. This system has had problems with CAN SPAM issues so it will be replaced with RESAAS, a real estate specific social networking website. RESAAS is free and enables members to share their listings and wants and needs on a social networking platform. 
Is it affordable:
Is it sustainable: The website is clearly sustainable. However, as indicated above, they will move away from the broadcast email program in favor of a social networking approach.
Is it replicable in other associations: Absolutely
