The National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) has been focused on issues and policies surrounding remote notarization, which involves audio/video applications to allow a person to appear before a notary. Only permissible in some jurisdictions, NAR recently thanked the NASS for their ongoing attention to these issues in an effort to make real estate closings more efficient across the country. NAR will continue to work in partnership with stakeholders and regulators on these important issues.
