NAR Meets With FHFA Director, Sends Follow-up Letter

NAR President Charlie Oppler and NAR staff met with the new Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Sandra Thompson and her staff in mid-July. The meeting was cordial and provided an opportunity for Director Thompson to outline her plans for the FHFA and for NAR to share its thoughts.

NAR sent a follow up letter today, thanking the Director for her time and sharing her perspective as well as for the FHFA's efforts on the pandemic, dropping the 50 basis point fee on refinances, and affirming the FHFA's duty to support fair housing. The letter further outlines a number of NAR priorities and opportunities for the FHFA to better support the market in the near term and through longer term reforms.
