REALTORS® Aim to Raise $5M for Future Disaster Victims

The REALTORS® Relief Foundation calls on NAR’s more than 1.5 million members to help reach its 2023 fundraising goal.

The REALTORS® Relief Foundation announced the launch of its 2023 fundraising campaign Tuesday, calling on the nation's REALTORS® to donate toward its $5 million goal. One hundred percent of the funds RRF collects go directly to victims of natural disasters. “The 2023 campaign is a proactive effort to ensure support is readily available when disaster strikes,” says RRF President Mike McGrew. “Disaster knows no end, and REALTORS® are here to help the public.”

REALTORS® have a history of stepping up to help recovery efforts in the wake of disaster. Since its inception in 2001, RRF has given more than $37 million in aid, helping 19,000 families across 42 states. In the last two years alone, RRF has granted more than $9 million to 30 communities, helping more than 2,000 families with housing assistance. Last year, RRF gave $1 million to victims of record floods in Kentucky and Missouri and $2 million to victims of Hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico and Hurricane Ian in Florida.

“The real estate community has always been a strong and resilient, and we believe that we have a responsibility to give back and help those in need,” says NAR President Kenny Parcell. “It’s inspiring to see REALTORS® step up to provide hope and make a difference when others need assistance.”

So far this year, RRF has received $100,000 each from the Arkansas, North Carolina and Texas state REALTOR® associations, as well as a $500,000 donation from the NAR Family of Brands. Members wishing to donate can learn more at nar.realtor/rrf.
