Here are three ways to generate discussion about home design topics with your business prospects.

  1. Team up for a video series. Karen Gray-Plaisted, a home stager with Design Solutions KGP, joined with real estate pro Angela Murphy with Green Team Realty, both located in Warwick, N.Y., to create a short online video series called “Selling Solutions.” In the videos, they provide tips and tricks for sellers and buyers centered on the importance of a home’s presentation, covering topics like staging, curb appeal, and kitchen trend. “Our goal is to give buyers and sellers an edge in the market when they are ready to sell or purchase their next home,” says Gray-Plaisted.
  2. Lead a design challenge. At the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, Berkshire Hathway HomeServices Michigan Real Estate in Grand Rapids, Mich., looked to connect and inspire action as homeowners were adapting to stay-at-home orders. The brokerage promoted a “10 Days to Declutter Challenge” on its blog and through social media. It included a 10-day plan to tackle decluttering in key areas of the home. Participants shared their progress by posting photos with the #10DayDeclutterChallenge hashtag. The brokerage’s blog has also fostered connections consumer with blog posts about home improvement projects to complete while social distancing, featuring tips on gardening, patio pavers, painting, and more.
  3. Share design-related content. Be a source of home improvement ideas and inspiration. A steady stream of ready-to-use articles centered on remodeling, design, and all other aspects of homeownership is available through the REALTOR® Content Resource, powered by HouseLogic, the consumer website by the National Association of REALTORS®. Download article files and customize them with your logo and contact information. Share via your blog, e-newsletters, and social media.
