As part of its commitment to addressing racial injustice and building safe and inclusive communities, the National Association of REALTORS® is offering Community Rebuilding Grants for local and state REALTOR® associations to help restore buildings and community spaces damaged during recent protests. Associations may apply for up to $3,000 to clean up and repair parks, playgrounds, pedestrian plazas, walkways, and buildings. Funds can be used for cleaning supplies, building materials, and tools, among other items.
More than a dozen associations have been approved for funding so far, including Bonita Springs-Estero REALTORS® in Florida to help remove graffiti and repaint a park bandshell in partnership with the city, and the Fredericksburg (Va.) Area Association of REALTORS® to support a volunteer “Love Scrub” cleanup effort to remove trash and graffiti.
“I'm excited NAR is helping to provide resources that REALTORS® can use to be a part of the healing and rebuilding process within our communities,” says Zeke Morris, 2020 REALTOR® Party Community Engagement Liaison. “I'm encouraging our young REALTORS® to get involved in their communities and provide input that allows us to be in the midst of the solution.”
Associations may apply for grants online through Oct. 15. All projects must be completed by Dec. 31. For more information, visit realtorparty.realtor/communityrebuilding.
