REALTORS® Legislative Meetings and Trade Expo

Have you ever wanted to gain access to someone in the real estate industry who's in high demand and difficult to connect with? If so, you must get out of your state and attend events like the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo in Washington, D.C.

Members of the National Association of REALTORS® are here this week from all over the United States, and on Wednesday, May 15, REALTORS® will storm the U.S. Capital to engage with members of the House and Senate, sharing personal stories about why homeownership matters.

In addition to advocating for the real estate industry, when you get out of your state, you gain access to individuals whose schedules are usually full. Take Marki Lemon Ryhal, a speaker and trainer who focuses on social media education. I had the opportunity to connect with Lemon Ryhal today, and she gave me a tip on how to use vertical video with one of her favorite editing apps, Inshot. This app provides the ability to take horizontal video and turn it into vertical video for Instagram TV (IGTV), as well as add text to your video.

I also connected with Dr. Danette O’Neal, author, broker-owner of Danette O’Neal REALTORS®, and professor for REALTOR® University, during a networking opportunity. Here's one piece of advice she gave me: “There is a difference between people who just focus on money and people who don't. If you focus on wants, you’ll forget about needs.” When you don’t focus on money it’s easier to do your job well and best serve your clients, said O’Neal, who provided tips on how to take my business to the next level with certifications.

The REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo is where the high-end networking takes place. If you want to meet the cream of the crop in our industry, you’ve gotta go where they go. So, get out of your state and get involved.
