Clearing a Path for First-Time Buyers

First-time homebuyers today have more access to information than ever before. Thanks to reality television and the ubiquity of social media, first-time buyers often come to transactions knowing exactly what they want and what they don’t. But the current market—complete with rising prices, multiple-offer situations and slim inventory—poses new challenges for this group.

Two REALTORS®, Bethany Nolan and Blair Myers, share their experiences with first-time homebuyers in their respective areas, East Texas and Atlanta, what the latest generation of homebuyers wants, and if the traditional “American Dream” still exists.

Nolan began her career as a REALTOR® in 2017. As an East Texas native, Nolan is a broker associate at her family's brokerage, Nolan Properties LLC. Most recently, she has been named to the National Association of REALTORS® 30 Under 30 Class of 2022, which involved an intense application and approval process based on transactions, sales volume and community involvement. Nolan received her Accredited Buyer's Representative designation, the Seller’s Representative Specialist, Commitment to Excellence, and Accredited Luxury Home Specialist designation.

After becoming a real estate industry professional with over 3,000 closed transactions in under 20 years, Myers aligned his brand with that of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers, allowing him to tap into the power of Georgia’s largest real estate brokerage. A recovering reality star of "Like A Boss" on Oxygen, Myers was one of four industry leaders chronicled as they mentored their assistants on their rise to the top. Myers is also a new construction builder, home plan designer, and home-stager.
