Remembering His Roots
For Josh Diaz, 29, real estate was an easy decision, even when his father tried to dissuade him from entering the family business. “My dad has been a real estate broker for a long time,” he says, “and he was kind of like ‘what are you doing?’ when I decided to become an agent because he knows how hard this business can be.” Diaz went to college and tested other careers, but real estate kept calling him back. Diaz started out working with first-time buyers and entry-level clients but now focuses on luxury real estate. “I learned that it doesn’t matter what I’m listing; it could be a $40,000 trailer or a $4 million home. I treat all clients with the same care and give them the same attention.” He’s never worked directly with his father but says he relies on his dad for advice and direction from time to time.
