A National Association of REALTORS® survey of associations recently found:

  • 75% of associations said social media is the most effective tool to reach consumers, followed by community involvement/sponsorships (59%) and events (39%). Common “other” responses included websites, newspaper articles and word of mouth.
  • 53% of respondents said that consumers most want how-to information on buying or selling, followed by resources on mortgages, appraisals and home improvement (49%), and listing information (41%).
  • When asked about surprisingly effective ways to engage consumers, associations mentioned posting videos on social media, participating in public community events and partnering with local charities.
