Happy Places: REALTOR® Members Care
Local and state associations do good work in their communities all year long. Here are just a few other ways associations build goodwill:

Clean Up Florida Waters does just that, with help from Florida REALTORS® and many of the state’s local associations. Throughout July, more than 3,000 member volunteers clean up trash at the state’s “happy places.” The event is one of the largest volunteer efforts organized by a REALTOR® association. In 2024, 32 tons of trash were collected—more than the weight of a fully loaded garbage truck.

Every year, homeowners in a specific neighborhood of Kansas City get help with home repairs and exterior beautification projects, all to help drive up property values and build community pride, through the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS® Rock the Block. Hundreds volunteer annually and have contributed $245,000 over the past eight years.

Member volunteers show their heart to the community at Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association in Virginia through its REALTORS® Have a Heart task force. Volunteer projects have included preparing a site for Hope Haven, which provides summer camps for low-income families; spring cleaning at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Norfolk; assembling over 100 bikes for the Salvation Army’s Christmas donations; and tackling indoor and outdoor projects at Edmarc, a hospice for children.
Think of Canopy REALTOR® Association’s REALTORS® Care Day as a community-wide, one-day home repair project. Members volunteer to help homeowners throughout the Charlotte, N.C., region with needed repairs and safety modifications. This past April, more than 300 Canopy members volunteered at 16 sites.
