On January 19, 2021, the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance considered President Biden's nominee to be the next Secretary of the U.S Department of the Treasury, Janet Yellen. NAR wrote a letter in support of Ms. Yellen's nomination.
NAR has been focused on leadership changes at the Treasury Department and potential Congressional action regarding the secondary markets. Also, Ms. Yellen's reputation as a dove on interest rates bodes well for the housing market.
