NAR Requests HUD Meet Appraisers

On Tuesday August 8, 2021, NAR formally requested the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to include appraisers and their representatives in upcoming meetings of the Interagency Task Force on Property Assessment Valuation Equity (PAVE).

NAR takes fair housing matters seriously and supports assessing and addressing concerns with discrimination in the appraisal process. Ensuring all relevant parties are a part of the conversation, especially appraisers and their representatives, is key to developing a safe and sound path forward on this issue. Appraisals are an integral and longstanding part of the real estate transaction, providing secure reliance on a property's valuation for all parties.
