On May 23rd the Senate confirmed Brian Montgomery to be the Assistant Secretary/FHA Commissioner for the Department of Housing and Urban Development by a vote of 74-23. The vote comes 6 months after the Senate Banking Committee approved him, but only one week after REALTORS® urged his confirmation on Capitol Hill as part of the REALTOR® Legislative Meetings and Trade Expo in Washington, DC. Montgomery previously served as FHA Commissioner for Presidents George W Bush and Barack Obama. He has a proven record of accomplishment as a strong advocate for FHA and its role in mortgage markets.
