Appraisal Foundation Seeks Comment on Evaluations

On September 3, 2019, the Appraisal Foundation released a concept paper focused on developing standards for performing evaluations in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Given many changes in the current real estate market where the valuation of real property is being assessed through non-appraisal products, such as evaluations, the Foundation's Appraisal Standards Board (ASB) is seeking input on whether USPAP should address standards for evaluations, and if so, how to differentiate that from appraisals. Interested parties can submit comments to ASBcomments@appraisalfoundation.org by October 11, 2019.

In addition, the ASB will host a webinar on September 10, 2019, at 1:00 pm ET to answer questions on this matter. There will also be a public meeting and live stream of the ASB on October 18, 2019, in Washington, DC.
