NAR’s Mission and Vision

The core purpose of the National Association of REALTORS® is to help its members become more profitable and successful. NAR strives to be the collective force influencing and shaping the real estate industry.

Three-way Agreement

The Three-way Agreement sets the overall relationship between the National Association of REALTORS®, the state association, and the local associations of that state.

Code of Ethics

The Code of Ethics is a detailed document that outlines the professional responsibilities of every REALTOR®.

Code of Ethics Training

Every two years, all REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training. Get details about the obligations of members and associations with respect to Code of Ethics Training.

Types of Membership

The types of membership at the national level are explained here.

Updating Bylaws

Model bylaws for local REALTOR® associations are available from the National Association and are presented in two formats:

Model Bylaws for Local Boards
Model Bylaws for State Associations

Board of Choice

REALTOR® membership in a local association is not based on an office location. Rather, a REALTOR® may choose primary membership in any local association in the state where he or she is licensed and has an office or in a contiguous state. Find out what this means for your association.

Guidance on Antitrust Issues

Learn why awareness of competition and antitrust issues is important for real estate professionals, along with information on avoiding antitrust problems.

REALTORS® M1: Members First Engagement System

Local and sometimes state associations are responsible for maintaining up-to-date member records for the REALTOR® organization via REALTORS® M1, or Members First, a modernized member engagement database system (formerly NRDS database).

RPAC

RPAC is the voice of REALTORS® on Capitol Hill. It is the only political group in the country organized for REALTORS®, run by REALTORS® and exists solely to further issues important to REALTORS®. The RPAC Partnership Program helps state and local associations increase their RPAC fundraising receipts above their current RPAC “per member” goals. Review the services available for associations, including grants to conduct fundraising events and customized RPAC marketing materials.

Broker Involvement Program

The Broker Involvement Program provides broker-owners with a simple tool to rally their company’s agents in bringing to Congress’ attention issues of concern to the REALTOR® community.
