National Hispanic Heritage Month focuses on celebrating Hispanic culture and history in the U.S.

The Hispanic population is expanding at a much faster rate than the non-Latino population, quickly becoming one of the most influential and largest minority groups in the U.S. Right now, about one in five Americans are Latino, and that number is expected to grow in 2060, when over one in four Americans are likely to be Latino, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

The U.S. Latino economy continues to grow as well. According to ADP, Hispanics in the U.S. Have reached 2.5 trillion dollars in economic buying power.

Nadia Evangelou, senior economist and director of real estate research at the National Association of REALTORS®, joins Scripps News to discuss local and regional market trends, including the effects of changing demographic and migration patterns.
