Roughly two months after the first and third largest local REALTOR® associations combined forces, the organization announced on Thursday that Martin County REALTORS® of the Treasure Coast has joined the fold after “overwhelming support” from members.
With about 94,000 members, the new association further solidifies its position at the top as the largest local REALTOR® association, even larger than most state associations, according to NAR data.
The merger further unifies the Southeast Florida marketplace of Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties and gives members access to the most complete South Florida MLS dataset—the third largest MLS in the country, the association wrote.
Additional benefits include:
- Access to both Flexmls and Matrix platforms
- Free IDX feeds from both MIAMI MLS and BeachesMLS
- More than 2,800 education programs annually
- More than 300 products and services
- More than 300 global partnerships
- Free Supra access
- More than 11 data-sharing partnerships to expand listing exposure
- The collective advocacy of more than 93,600 REALTOR® members protecting homeownership and private property rights
The final administrative step to formalize the agreement is for the association to submit an application and documents supporting the merger to the National Association of REALTORS®.
“Our members have spoken with overwhelming support for a future built on greater opportunity,” Martin County REALTORS® of the Treasure Coast CEO Janet O’Brien says. “This merger honors the proud legacy of Martin County REALTORS® of the Treasure Coast while providing our members with expanded resources, enhanced services and a stronger regional presence. We look forward to continuing to serve our members and our communities as part of MIAMI REALTORS® + RWorld.”
Adding neighboring Martin County to the organization supports MIAMI REALTORS® + RWorld’s goal of a stronger regional alliance, explains Co-CEO Teresa King Kinney, who announced her plans to retire at the end of the year back in February, after 33 years with Miami REALTORS®.
“From Miami-Dade to St. Lucie, a nearly 120-mile real estate corridor, we are one,” Kinney says. “We are honored to welcome Martin County REALTORS® of the Treasure Coast and their outstanding leadership, professionals and programs. Their decision to join our newly merged organization reinforces the value of building a stronger regional association focused on innovation, collaboration and exceptional member service. Every merger is about creating more opportunities for our members and together we are providing even greater access to data, technology, education and advocacy.”
Her Co-CEO Dionna Hall, who will serve as the sole CEO in the new year, echoed the sentiment, saying the merger helps create “greater opportunities than any one association could provide alone.”
While the organization includes Palm Beach County, the town of Palm Beach, with a population of just under 9,500 people, remains under the purview of the Palm Beach Board of REALTORS® which did not merge in May and operates its own MLS.
