What makes him special: He entered real estate with the vision of owning a multistate real estate company. After four years in sales, he made his goal a reality, launching Liberty in early 2002 with a builder partner. The business now has 20 offices, and Crane’s working on getting licensed in California, Nevada, and New Mexico.
Management track: Crane says 2002 marks his retirement from active sales for the foreseeable future. He went out with a bang, closing $11.4 million in sales with 107 transaction sides. He plans to devote his time to managing the company’s continued growth.
An ad man: Crane plays an active role in creating Liberty’s advertising campaigns. He once employed a Robin Leach impersonator to tout the company’s services, both in radio spots and Talking House tours. Humor eases customers’ tension, he says. If you can tickle customers’ funny bone “you can help them laugh away their homebuying fear.”
