Goal-Oriented with Powder Breaks
Alden Abbleby Hultgren was born to ski—growing up in Vail, Colo., she was on skis as a toddler and later trained alongside Olympian Lindsey Vonn—but she was also born to sell real estate. She's a fourth-generation real estate professional, whose passion for the active mountain lifestyle resonates with the Tahoe Sierra–area buyers and sellers she works with. "I live and breathe this lifestyle; my clients see that and get excited about it," she says. "If there's six inches of powder or more, the office closes for the moment so we can take a run and share that passion with our clients."
High-End Focus
Hultgren's brokerage targets the North Lake Tahoe area, but she has narrowed her focus to five high-end communities, including the Ritz-Carlton Residences. The down economy didn't stop her from selling one of the area's most expensive vacation properties last year. Hultgren is part of a three-person team that shares marketing costs. "We really motivate each other," she says.
Give Them an Experience to Remember
"I reach out [to potential clients] in meaningful ways," she says. "I host them, take them around town, go skiing with them, go to dinner. I really show them what it's like to live here, how to enjoy the lifestyle. They come to value my opinion. This is also how I gain a lot of referrals."
