August 2026 existing-home sales reached a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.98 million, while inventory increased to 1.62 million homes for sale. Housing supply rose to 4.9 months, and the median existing-home sales price climbed to $429,100, up 1.6% from a year ago.
