Both a foster parent and and an adoptive parent, Furnish brought to South Dakota the organization America’s Kids Belong and created a collaborative relationship among the state, the faith community, the arts community and local businesses to improve outcomes for kids in the foster care system. He launched “I Belong” videos, which gave 148 kids a voice as they wait to be adopted. Furnish has also volunteered for 20 years with Hope Ranch International.
