2013 Honorable Mentions

So many REALTORS® are making a difference in their communities that we had to bring a few more to your attention.

Congratulations to the five Good Neighbor Honorable Mentions, who each will receive a $2,500 grant for their charities.

Brenda Breit GRI
The Empowered Team LLC, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Breit and her daughter formed Lost Our Home Pet Foundation, which rescues pets that were abandoned by owners who were foreclosed on or evicted. Breit, who has recruited more than 100 REALTORS® to volunteer, has helped rescue more than 2,200 pets. She also helps people stay with their pets by finding them pet-friendly rentals.

Brad Coleman e-PRO
Metro Estates, Newport Beach, Calif.

Coleman serves Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, which matches at-risk youth with positive mentors. Coleman promotes the merits of the mentor program, recruits mentors, and enrolls business sponsors. He was instrumental in raising $150,000 for the organization, and his personal donations and event sponsorships last year funded 13 mentorship matches.

Susanne Crenshaw
Keller Williams of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, Okla.

For 19 years, Crenshaw has helped the elderly and handicapped by providing them daytime care, which delays their placement into nursing homes and relieves the burden on caregivers. As president of Daily Living Centers Inc., Crenshaw spearheaded fundraising efforts to support the construction of two new facilities and offer daily transportation.

Nick Manis ABR, SFR
Manis, REALTORS®, South Brunswick, N.J.

Manis cofounded the G.I. Go Fund, a nonprofit that helps military veterans transition back to civilian life. His experience as a REALTOR® has enabled him to get homeless veterans off the street and prevent homelessness among veterans who face foreclosure and eviction. Manis frequently conducts midnight missions during which he and a team of volunteers visit bus stations and other places that the homeless gather to provide emergency assistance.

Rebecca Moniz GRI, SRES
Weichert, REALTORS®, Cress & Co., East Greenwich, R.I.

Moniz supports military families through The Rhode Island Military Family Programs by bringing together resources that help service members with housing-related needs during and after deployment. She cofounded the REALTORS® Troop Support Task Force, which has educated more than 1,500 service members about home ownership, loan modifications, refinancing scams, and tax assessments.
