Stronger demand amidst lagging inventory levels caused home prices to continue accelerating in most  metropolitan areas. Among 177 metropolitan areas, 92% of them experienced an increase of home prices in the third quarter of 2017. We compared the local market conditions in these areas from a year earlier and we identified which metro areas had the highest gains in home prices, employment and construction:
