UPDATE:
On Tuesday, February 3, the House approved and President Trump signed a fiscal year 2026 spending package, ending the partial government shutdown that began early on January 31.
The package represents a win for housing advocates and the millions of families who depend on federal housing programs, and also reauthorizes the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through September 30.
While this is a very politically dynamic event, NAR staff will continue to monitor federal agencies and work with Congress, the Administration, and other groups to assess ongoing impacts to NAR members and their businesses.
