CHICAGO (September 10, 2026) – The REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF), the charitable arm of the National Association of REALTORS®, was founded 25 years ago by REALTORS® to meet the housing needs of those affected by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Over the past 25 years, REALTORS® and RRF have continued to help families and communities impacted by wildfires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes and other tragedies.

Since its founding in 2001, RRF has provided more than $53 million in financial housing assistance to more than 50,000 families affected by disasters. Because NAR covers 100% of the foundation’s administrative expenses, every dollar donated goes directly to disaster victims.

“Twenty-five years ago, after the September 11 terrorist attacks, REALTORS® came together to support families in need. Our REALTOR® family did this because we understand how housing provides a source of stability after tragedies occur. Today, the REALTORS® Relief Foundation continues to deliver on the mission that spurred its creation,” said RRF President Greg Hrabcak. “When a crisis upends a family’s life, RRF is there with real, tangible help when they need it most. Building and supporting communities sits at the very heart of who REALTORS® are, and this foundation is one of the clearest expressions of that. RRF, through the support of REALTORS®, our partners, and the national, state, and local associations, will continue to assist families in need after disasters occur for generations to come.”

So far in 2026, RRF has approved $3,287,000 in grants to support families affected by 21 different disasters, providing assistance to thousands of families working to recover and rebuild.
