Peardon has been licensed for 10 years and selling for six -- but her career took on a new meaning four years ago after she faced down discrimination. She was showing homes to an African-American family when three men threatened her, saying they'd "get her" if she brought "those people" into the neighborhood. Peardon, whose office is five miles outside Detroit, reported the incident to fair housing groups and worked with police and the FBI to identify the ringleader. Peardon received local and national fair housing awards for her courage says the incident awakened a passion for fair housing.
Early training: As a high-school student, Peardon worked as a receptionist at a real estate office. During college, she earned her license and worked as an assistant to her future husband. In 2000 the couple joined Keller Williams and formed the John & Stacy Team. 2005 was a big year for the Peardons: They celebrated the birth of their first child and $5 million in closed sales.
That's a lot of leads: The Peardons get 400 to 500 leads per month with a toll-free number -- listed on all their ads and mailers -- that provides recorded property details and captures callers' contact information.
