Working Her Way Up
Sara Jacobson developed a strong work ethic at an early age. At 8, she collected roadside cans for five cents apiece. At 13, she was washing dishes at an assisted-living center. The home cleaning business she started at age 19 is what got her intrigued about real estate. “I loved walking into new homes and exploring every nook. I just didn’t enjoy the intense labor of cleaning homes,” says Jacobson, 28. “I decided that I’d do whatever it took” to get into real estate. She worked as an assistant for three years before getting her license in 2010. Since then, she has focused on new-home construction. “I really enjoy working with builders and with first-time home buyers,” says Jacobson, who chairs the local association’s YPN. “People are so excited about buying their first home. Being there to educate them is so fun.”
